Minister Laxmi Rajwade escapes unscathed in road mishap; convoy vehicles collide

Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade narrowly escaped a serious accident when her convoy was involved in a collision near Chargadh in Rajpur police station limits. The mishap occurred while the minister was travelling to Kusmi for an official visit.

According to reports, a clinical load truck rammed into the minister’s vehicle, disrupting the convoy. Fortunately, Minister Rajwade and her team escaped unharmed. The accident reportedly involved four vehicles from the convoy, raising concerns about the coordination during transit.

 

Local police and administrative teams reached the site swiftly to assess the situation. Preliminary findings indicate that the accident occurred due to negligence by the truck driver, who fled immediately after the incident. Authorities have initiated a detailed inquiry into the matter and are working to ensure accountability.

This incident follows another mishap on Friday night involving Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam. He sustained injuries to his arm and head when his vehicle was involved in an accident in Simga, approximately 40 kilometres from the state capital, Raipur. Netam has since been discharged from Ramakrishna Care Hospital after treatment.

The back-to-back accidents involving two cabinet ministers have sparked discussions about convoy management and vehicular safety during official travel. The administration has assured that necessary steps are being taken to prevent further such incidents.
